Pediatric Wellness

Acupressure and holistic and herbal Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) remedies for your babies, and young children is a gentle natural method of healing.

Between birth and the adolescent years children are growing through their most rapid phases of development.   My goal is to support both parent and child through these rites of passage with TCM and other natural tools to ground and center children throughout these transitions.   I look to the rich tapestry of centuries old wisdom found in Traditional Chinese Medicine — 5 elements, taoism, and other traditional wisdoms to design a health and self-care plan to fit the uniqueness of each individual that seeks my services.

Pediatric Tui Na (pronounced twee nah) is an ancient massage technique for children which aids their bodies in expelling pathogens, and helps to build strong immune systems.  Read more about Charlotte’s services in this specialty.

As children’s immune systems grow and develop, the proper diet and nutritional support is of major importance. Children’s growing intestinal systems (integral to immune function) are adapting to new foods and the tendency to eat a lot of food to keep up with their rapid growth rate —acupressure and herbal medicine help support children in maintaining healthy digestion in order to experience deep nutritional benefit and stay in a balanced state.  A healthy strong digestive process is integral to the rest of our organ systems functioning optimally–it all starts in the gut!  The best time to assure this process is optimal is in childhood — good habits last a lifetime!

Acupuncture is not used as often as Tui Na, acupressure and herbal medicine for children up to 7 years old; however from 7 years on, at times needles are inserted and removed in a very gentle fashion – to provide extra support.  See testimonials.
