About Charlotte Sobeck

“I truly love what I do for a living; it is my heart’s work and keeps my heart working!” — Charlotte Sobeck, MSOM, L.Ac.

Arriving at her passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine was a winding road for Charlotte, who first worked many years as a local and state government consultant and paralegal for an Austin law firm, McGinnis, Lochridge and Kilgore. While working in the legal field, Charlotte received a bachelors degree from the University of Texas in Photojournalism.  She wrote for Tejas at UT and exhibited her photographs locally for years. She also taught photography in an after school enrichment program at Zavala Elementary.

After graduating from UT, Charlotte sought relief for allergies and asthma that had troubled her since childhood. Impressed by the quick and deep healing from TCM treatments, Charlotte began to independently study Traditional Chinese Medicine and soon decided to attend graduate school to become a TCM practitioner.  In this field, Charlotte returns to a lifetime passion for healing which has been a part of her since childhood when she often rushed to the aid of an injured friend or family member with a caring touch, a plant poultice or home cooked remedy. Charlotte enjoys educating people in the vital role they play in their own health, the importance of a local/seasonal diet, good nutrition and a healthy way of living.  Through their own dedication to a healthy lifestyle and Charlotte’s guidance, patients can experience true optimal and vibrant health.

Charlotte is a fifth generation Austinite, She has a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. She earned Diplomates in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and holds Acupuncture License #AC00612 with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.  Charlotte has over 15 years of  experience practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine — in her own practice at Seasons Health for 10 years, and in an Eastern Medicine Fertility Clinic for over 4 years focusing on fertility, prenatal, postpartum and pediatric care.   Charlotte now provides acupuncture in a comfortable group setting at Acupuncture Together two days a week — she especially loves this acupuncture model as it allows her to give affordable accessible acupuncture in her own North Central Austin neighborhood.  Charlotte works and  blogs at Seasons Health and offers home visits for Acupuncture, Acupressure Massage for infants and young children and Holistic Healthcare Coaching.

Charlotte is trained and experienced in all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including but not limited to acupuncture, acupressure, TCM pediatrics, chinese herbal medicine, fertility, prenatal, postpartum,  and diet and nutrition counseling.
