How to support your body in Fall

fall

Yes fall is here, although it still feels balmy much of the time. In Texas winter generally comes on with a lot of vacillating weather making it difficult for our bodies to adjust, then bang – cold weather is here! Our immune and respiratory systems need to be prepared and supported during this challenging time. We are a part of nature and natural support for our bodies as fall turns to winter involves plenty of rest, good diet, nutrition and exercise to keep our blood and qi energies flowing strongly. In winter our bodies thrive on the deep rooted vegetables that grow in this season, rich warming soup broths, and plenty of healthy plant and animal protein. Traditional Chinese Medicine offers powerful support as it helps build strong immunity and reduces stress that can come with the winter season. Acupuncture, herbs and nutritional supplements keep our lungs and digestive system in balance in the winter. This balance is essential for our immune systems to function optimally. In addition, Traditional Chinese Medicine offers strong herbal and nutritional support for healing if a virus does come your way.

  1. Thanks for this information. I am reminded by your words to visit my acupuncturist and eat seasonal foods. I live in the Midwest so I found it entertaining to hear about the cold snap winter coming in Texas. I fantasize about your seasons, though. Winters here get harder every year.

    • You were the first to reply to my new business blog! You should visit Texas in the winter, spring or fall — the summers would be brutal for you most likely! Happy to hear you have an acupuncturist and are eating seasonally – share the healthy knowledge! Wishing you a Winter that warms your heart and a good pair of wool socks for those cold midwest winters!
